Oceans Day

Hello sand and sun...

Since our landmark this week is world oceans... it only makes sense to celebrate the oceans, right?! So today we made it happen! First stop: digging our feet in the sand.

Picnic at the beach:

Stations:

(1) Subtraction Bowling: Students had to roll a ball at 10 cups. Then count how many were knocked down to complete the equation. (10 cups total - 4 cups knocked down = 6 cups still standing)

2. Sand Hunt: Students had to dig in the sand to find 16 lizards! Each lizard had a word wall word on it.

3. Poem Reading in the Sun: Students had to wear HUGE sunglasses as they read word wall word poems.

4. Reading at the Beach: Students read under the beach umbrella!

5. Ordinal Number Toss: Students threw a football around in a circle while counting how many times they caught the ball. (First catch, second catch, third catch, etc.) When the ball dropped they had to start over again. Mr. Kent monitored this station! Thank you, Mr. Kent!

6. Catch that Fish: Students caught a fish on their fishing pole. Adding water to the bucket really made it fun for them. :)

Thumbs up to an AWESOME DAY of learning! <3 "Can we have other day like this?" Of course!! Southern Day is coming in 2 weeks :)
