This week our language art skill is controlled r words. To enhance the learning experience of this skill I decided to create a "Pirate Day!" From the moment the students walked on the ship, it was ALL about controlled r words. We read pirate stories that emphasized controlled r words, chanted pirate songs, played games, watched a short video, ate a pirate lunch/snacks, went on an "Aaargh Treasure Hunt", etc.
We had a BLAST! Thank you parents for making this day so special for our kids!
